Tasting notes
Vivid ruby-red. Suave and expansive on the nose, but with noteworthy verve to the aromas of red berry liqueur, floral pastilles and incense. Lithe and appealingly sweet in the mouth, offering juicy raspberry and cherry flavors that deepen and gain power in the mid-palate. Finishes round, seamless and spicy, with gentle tannins and excellent cling.

The 2012 La Colina Vineyard Pinot Noir comes from 15-year-old vines on the southern edge of the Dundee Hills. It has a perfumed blackberry and wild hedgerow scented nose: delineated and nicely focused. The palate is fresh and crisp on the entry with sappy red berry fruit, a keen line of acidity and plenty of substance on the finish to suggest this will age with style. The best from Cowley's recent releases.
