Bright red. Aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry, sassafras and succulent herbs, along with hints of woodsmoke and licorice. Chewy and concentrated, offering intense dark fruit flavors and a suggestion of candied violet. A deep, serious, ageworthy Pinot even by the standards of the vintage, finishing with building tannins and strong thrust.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Abbey Ridge Unfiltered has a deep and broody bouquet, dark berries, briary, cracked black pepper and damp undergrowth scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with red and black fruit, fine tannin, well-judged acidity with great harmony, though it does not have the complexity of the 2013 coming through.
