The medium to full-bodied 2022 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch includes a fair proportion of field-blended other varieties, including such rarities as Alicante and Lenoir, among others. Red berry and stone fruit notes appear on the nose, while the palate is firm and a bit dusty-tannic but with impressive length.

Full bottle 1,350 g. Planted in the 1920s. Deep purple in colour, bright fuchsia rim. Fragrant creamy black fruit with a dab of vanilla on the nose. Juicy acidity and lightly drying, very fine tannins. The fruit is generous and sweet, but the wine lingers on a fully dry finish with charred spice and vanilla. (SCJ)
