Score 89/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013

Bright, medium ruby-red. Black cherry, herbs, tobacco leaf and loam on the nose, sweetened by chocolatey oak. Juicy and firmly built, showing good clarity and brisk acidity but with an obviously herbal component to the black cherry and currant fruit. Finishes with serious but essentially fine-grained tannins and a lingering green element. Will this very primary young wine gain in complexity with time in bottle?
