Score 93/100 · Drink 2028-2043, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Oct 2025

From vines planted between 2002 and 2005, the 2023 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard was fermented with 15% whole clusters and matured in 50% new French oak. It takes coaxing to reveal cranberry, orange peel, cinnamon stick, forest floor and mushroom aromas. Full-bodied, it floods the mouth with dark, earthy flavors. It’s structured by silky tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, latent finish. It will benefit from time in the cellar. 1,175 cases produced.

A bright ruby color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Gap's Crown Vineyard comes from the Sonoma Coast is pretty and a little more subtle all around, with notes of fresh berries, fresh flowers, and baked earth. The palate is medium-bodied and has a leaner texture, as well as a clean, easygoing feel. It’s a more understated wine from Sojourn in this vintage to drink over the coming 6-7 years.
