Tasting notes
The Argentine billionaire who owns Bounty Hunter. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc. Tasted blind. Extremely deep purplish crimson. This doesn’t smell frank! Blueberry compote? But with a covering layer too. Then super-sweet and forward, like wine number 2 (Scarecrow 2021) – rather like the overripe, too-sweet Napa Cabs of old. Hint of alcohol on the end. (JR)

There are just 100 cases of the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, blended from Oakville and Saint Helena fruit. Meant to be a best-of-the-best selection and blend, it does include 10% Cabernet Franc and plenty of new French oak. It's cedary and menthol-scented on the nose, those notes joining slow-to-unfurl ripe cassis and black cherry aromas. This full-bodied, velvety-textured wine finishes with refreshing crispness and ample length.
Lemon, lime, honeyed flowers, mint, and some mineral notes all define the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley, a brilliant, medium-bodied, balanced, lengthy, and utterly classic Sauvignon Blanc that has tons to love. Aged 20 months all in used oak, this should evolve for a decade or more, although I see no need to delay gratification.
