Round Pond's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Gravel Series Scholar's Gate is dense, powerful and quite structured, but also medium in body for the year. Time in the glass brings out the wine's volume and textural depth. My impression is that the Scholar's Gate is still recovering from its recent bottling. Even so, the 2015 possesses striking density and plenty of depth. It will be interesting to see where this ends up in another 6-12 months.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Scholar's Gate, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, offers up Indian spices, fallen leaves, dusty earth and potpourri notions with a cassis and kirsch-scented core. The full-bodied palate is rich, concentrated and opulent, with velvety tannins and a long, perfumed finish.
