Tasting notes
Cassis, scorched earth, graphite, and some crushed rock-like minerality all emerge from the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, another concentrated, balanced, impressive Cabernet Sauvignon from this estate. Playing in the medium to full-bodied, structured end of the spectrum, it should benefit from 2-4 years, if not more, of bottle age and evolve gracefully over the following 10-15 years.

Full bottle 1,408 g. 93.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6.5% Cabernet Franc. 21 months in 225-litre French oak barrels, 60% new. pH 3.63. 302 cases produced. Inky purple in colour. Vanilla and spice on the nose. Viscous on the palate with mouth-wateringly high acid, fine-grained tannin and plenty of oak influence. The fruit doesn't quite succeed in cutting through the oak or supporting the sheer mass of tannin. (SCJ)
