Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a huge, potent wine that shows the natural richness of these sites in Coombsville and Howell Mountain that inform the blend. Back cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather and spice flesh out in a racy, voluptuous wine that will tempt readers with its sheer allure. A dollop of Merlot (10%) adds suppleness. Bold and voluptuous in the glass, the 2016 is one of the finest Napa Valley Cabernets readers will find under $100.

A blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Merlot, aged in 40% new French oak for 19 months, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is sporting tons of flamboyant cassis, warm plums and blueberry preserves notes with hints of mocha, lavender, menthol and iodine. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm, grainy and lively with a great intensity of black and blue fruits, finishing with a menthol lift. 650 cases produced.
