Score 91-94/100 · Drink 2015-2028, Robert Parker, Dec 2014

The 2012 Proprietary Red Nicole’s is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec and Merlot put together by winemaking consultant David Ramey. This is a beauty, with blueberry, sweet camphor and charcoal notes intermixed with blackcurrant and a touch of subtle barrique aromas. It’s dense, medium to full-bodied, pure and lushly textured. About 740 cases were produced of this outstanding proprietary red. Drink now-2028.

Lancaster's 2012 Nicole's Proprietary Red Blend bursts from the glass with rose petals, dark red berries, cinnamon, cloves and menthol. Next to the 2011, the 2012 fills out in all directions; the aromatics are wonderfully expressive, yet there is plenty of fruit and structure.
