Even more profound is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, which has wonderful blueberry liqueur notes intermixed with violets and wet rocks followed by a great intensity of flavor with the blue and black fruit spectrum represented impressively. The wine has a long finish of close to 50 seconds, while tannins are sweet and well-integrated as is the acidity and oak. This is great stuff and should continue to drink well for another 25 or more years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard offers plenty of up-front immediacy. The soft, silky contours that are typical of wines from this highly-regarded St. Helena site are very much in evidence. Like the other reds in this range, the Dr. Crane can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Today, the new oak is a bit dominant. Otherwise, this is very nicely done.
