2015 Jean-Louis Dutraive (Domaine de la Grand'Cour) Fleurie Clos de la Grand'Cour

Dutraive's 2015 Fleurie is superb, but it's comparatively aromatically reserved by the standards of this cuvée, slowly unfurling in the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and dried flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, pure and satiny, with a deep core of fruit, melting tannins and beautifully judged acidity. The sunshine and structure of the vintage are there, but they're kept in check. A couple of years of bottle age will be rewarded by greater aromatic extravagance, and this should prove unusually long lived.
