Ruby-red. Lively aromas of black cherry and blueberry. Supple, pliant and sweet, with vibrant blackberry and violet flavors. Finishes with chewy, firm tannins and good juicy fruit.

This lower pedigree wine represents undeniable quality/value rapport in 2005. This vintage is so deep in quality among the better run, less heralded estates, that these wines should appeal to readers looking for terrific values from Bordeaux. Most of these wines are Merlot-based and will be drinkable young.

Light nose. Sweet, simple and slightly green. Far from opulent – a bit pinched. (JR)
