Tasting notes
The 2019 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard is fabulous, but it has also closed down quite a bit since the last time I tasted it. There is plenty of searing intensity and complexity, all the Library needs is time to fully assimilate. This field blend of red and white varieties is a special wine that will reward readers who can be patient.

Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard is scented of blackcurrant liqueur and earth with touches of chargrill and violets. The medium-bodied palate is grainy and fresh, with mineral-laced fruits and an uplifted finish. 460 cases were made.
The 2019 Petite Syrah Library Vineyard is fabulous. It is a bit less immediate than most of the other wines in the range, but it has more nuance, complexity and structure. Firm, tannic and driving intensity, the Library has so much to offer. The 2019 is still recovering from its bottling, but it has a ton to offer. Inky dark fruit, lavender, graphite, cloves and licorice build into the huge, massively structured finish. The 2019 needs time, the only question is how much.
