1990 CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino

Although the color is a healthy dark ruby, this tightly knit, hard, tannic style of Brunello does not appear to possess sufficient fat and fruit extraction to balance out its astringent components. The wine's high acidity, hard tannin, and earthy rusticity result in a compressed, compact example of the vintage. It needs 7-8 more years of cellaring, but do not expect any miracles to occur.
