Tasting notes
(15% alcohol): Golden yellow. Musky nose dominated by vanillin oak today. Broad, leesy and rich, with a sweetness to the flavors of marzipan, honey and nutty oak. There's some ripe yellow fruit here but today it's the wine's exotic side that dominates. Finishes with notes of honey and butterscotch. I elevated my score because I liked this wine's sugar/acid balance.

Orange blossom, charred oak and coconut on the nose, with the oakiness growing in the glass. Pliant and silky in the mouth, but with good harmonious acidity framing the soft citrus and subtle leesy flavors. Finishes broad and long. I started out at 90 points but lowered my score as the vanillin oak component become more pronounced.
