Tasting notes
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Abel Vineyard is striking. Freshly cut flowers, mint, violets, crushed rocks, menthol and licorice seem to jump from the glass. An exotic mélange of blue and black fruit follows, all supported by firm 2010 tannins. There is weightless power to the 2010 that is simply marvelous. The 2010 isn't an obvious wine, but it is drop dead gorgeous. Readers will have a very hard time keeping their hands off this jewel of a wine. I can't wait to taste it in another few years, once the tannins have begun to melt away.

I was blown away by the three wines I tasted from Edge Hill, a historic property in St. Helena proprietor Leslie Rudd and his team are doing wonders with. Tel. (707) 944-8577
