Brilliant ruby-red. Vibrant red berry, cherry and floral pastille scents are lifted by a smoky mineral nuance. Silky, sweet and penetrating, offering juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become deeper and sweeter with air. Finishes with impressive tenacity and focus, leaving sappy red fruit and spicecake flavors behind.

The 2014 Fleurie, which has 11.2% alcohol in case people are watching the calories, and as usual is all wild yeast with a traditional carbonic maceration. It has an elegant, transparent bouquet with cranberry leaf, crushed strawberry and dried orange peel aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline, light marine influenced opening. The acidity here is nicely judged, everything dialed back but very composed and delivering plenty of bright, slightly rustic red berry fruit towards the poised, lightly spiced finish. Excellent.
