Pale straw. Hint of matchstick. Cross between Coche style and lemon juice. Builds to real intensity on the finish. Still lots of chew. This should make great old bones. Real tension and, for 2008, really welcoming fruit – though still masses of acidity in evidence. (JR)

Complex leesy, citric aromas. A step up in intensity from the Goutte d'Or, with terrific precision and sappiness to its vibrant peach and spice flavors. Wonderfully ripe, strong, sharply delineated Meursault with an explosive rising finish that perfumes the palate with flowers and aromatic citrus oils. Tighter in its grain and more serious than the 2009. This has turned out splendidly.
Rather muted nose. Very sweet and succulent on the palate. Broad and rich and not at all pinched. Very intense. Lemon syrup minus the sugar. Super concentrated. The yield was a mere 15 hl/ha! (JR)
Pale, bright yellow. Fruit-driven aromas of apple, pear and white peach. Juicy, dry and penetrating, with a very firm spine of acidity. Less opulent than the Clos des Ambres; in fact, this is almost painful today. Finishes with a chalky, lemony aftertaste and lovely lift. Rather backward in the context of the vintage, and yet most of these '08s seem more open today than their recently bottled 2007 counterparts.
