The 2020 Graacher Domprobst Spätlese is coolish, refined and elegant on the nose that reveals bright yet intense and ripe, slightly caramelly aromas intertwined with notes of weathered, clayish slate. Generously round and sweet but also piquant and finely nutty on the palate, this is a mouth-filling, lush and salty-finishing Spätlese with dense fruit yet still a certain lack of finesse. 9% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022.

So much orange and peach aroma, married to a firm, mineral structure that says Grand Cru. And the fact that this has some succulent grape sweetness doesnât alter that fact one jot. Bold and super-clean finish. Drink or hold.
