Score 79/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 1990
The Volnay Champans has less fruit and depth than the Clos des Ducs. This wine could be more inspiring. It is very light with soft, but adequate strawberry fruit in evidence. I am sure some writer might suggest that this wine will age into something sublime, but older vintages of d'Angerville's wines have rarely left me completely satisfied.
