Tasting notes
The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Chaffots wafts from the glass with aromas of plums, cinnamon, peonies, orange rind and raw cocoa. Medium-bodied, fine-boned and lively, it's bright and nicely concentrated, with youthfully chalky tannins and a saline finish. As usual, this is one of the more tightly wound premiers crus in the range, with an elegant, rather ethereal profile, and it will reward bottle age.

The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Chaffots 1er Cru is marked by higher acidity than other Premier Crus. It has a powerful bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and scorched earth aromas, developing floral scents with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, the 30% whole bunch neatly integrated. The harmonious, beautifully poised finish lingers long in the mouth. Excellent.
