The 2016 Hartford Zinfandel Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard is medium to deep garnet-purple in color and gives up intense notes of crushed black cherries, mulberries, plum preserves and blackberry compote with hints of star anise, cracked black pepper, hoisin and potpourri plus a waft of stewed tea. Full, concentrated and decadent in the mouth, it has a firm backbone of chewy tannins and wonderful freshness lifting the opulent fruit to a very long finish. 280 cases produced.

Blueberries, hints of cassis, black cherries, crushed flowers, and spice characteristics emerge from the 2016 Zinfandel Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard, which has a little more Petite Sirah in the blend than the Highwire cuvée. Ripe, sexy, and voluptuous, with full body, a plump, rounded mid-palate, and a killer finish, it's another awesome Zinfandel from this estate that's going to age beautifully for a decade or more. Hartford Court opts to bottle their Zinfandel releases under the straight “Hartford” label. Their classic Highwire Vineyard Zinfandel is up there with some of the greatest examples of the variety, from anywhere!
Another of the many highlights in this range, the 2016 Zinfandel Fanucchi-Wood Road Vineyard is superb. Deep, fleshy and powerful, with tremendous depth, the 2016 is another terrific wine from Hartford. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, leather and dark cloves all flesh out in this dark, virile Zinfandel.
