The 2019 Syrah Williamson-Doré Vineyard brings more pure cassis and blackberry fruit as well as classic Syrah notes of cracked pepper, smoked game, and decayed flowers. Beautiful on the palate as well, this medium to full-bodied Syrah has fine tannins, terrific overall balance, and a great finish. I surprisingly found a few of these latest Pinot Noirs from Foxen to be muddled and overtly earthy. Nevertheless, it’s big lineup of wines and there’s lot to like and choose from.

The 2019 Syrah Williamson-Doré Vineyard, tasted from barrel, is packed with inky blue fruit, spice and savory accents from the 15% whole clusters. It is another hugely promising wine from Foxen, but it is an infant.
