The 2022 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley saw 10 months in barrel with one-third new French oak. In the glass, it pours a rich ruby hue and is ripe with a pure, attractive perfume of cherries, crushed roses, and baking spices. Medium-bodied, it has some earthy, gamey notes, a silky texture, and a good, clean finish. It’s showing well now and should hold up nicely over the coming 5-6 years. I tasted this wine twice, once in California, then at my home office, and the wine I tasted from home (and which I reviewed here) showed a great deal more purity and charm than what was tasted previously.
