Tasting notes
(aged for 17 months in one-year-old oak): Bright red-ruby. Claret-like aromas of redcurrant, plum, licorice, musky tobacco leaf and smoky oak. Supple, dry and slightly high-toned on the palate, with red berry, mineral, licorice and tobacco flavors showing slightly grassy and grapey nuances. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins, a hint of green olive and good lift. (14.1% alcohol)

A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Mystique exhibits aromas of rich red-black fruits, cigar tobacco and subtle saddle leather. On the palate, it's rich, full-bodied and chewy, concluding with a moderately drying finish but showing more fruit and energy than its 2015 cousins that preceded it in the tasting. It's a hearty, rustic and keenly priced red to enjoy over the next handful of years.
From another great vintage for Washington State, the Bordeaux look-alike 2016 Mystique is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc that’s all from the estate vineyard on the western edge of the Yakima Valley. Its deep ruby color is followed by a spicy, savory, herbal, yet textured and full-bodied red that has loads of red and black fruits, some spicy oak, and a clean, dry finish. It’s already impossible to resist yet should keep for 7-8 years.
