The 2006 Rosso di Montalcino Ginestreto is a deeply-colored offering redolent of black cherries, violets, smoke and minerals. It is made in a fairly full-bodied style, but it comes across as somewhat linear and lacking the sheer volume that makes so many Rossos in this vintage incredibly appealing. This is a Rosso that cries out for food.
