Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2028, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Jun 2016

My favorite 2013 from Chris is his 2013 Behind The Black Curtain Reserve Syrah Kilpsun Vineyard, which comes all from the Klipsun vineyard (Red Mountain) and spent 22 months in new French oak. Showing more freshness than the Sleeping Giant Syrah, with fabulous black raspberry and cassis fruits, pepper, violets, and crushed flower-like aromas and flavors, this beauty is full-bodied, has building, yet polished tannin, excellent concentration and a great finish. There’s a lot of oak showing at the moment, so give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar. It should keep through 2028.
