Tasting notes
Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 21 months in 100% new French oak, the deep garnet-purple colored 2015 Cabernet Franc Steinhauer Ranch offers up notes of plum preserves, blueberry pie and cassis with touches of kirsch, crushed rocks, peppered meats and mossy bark. Full-bodied with a finely crafted frame of grainy tannins and plenty of juicy fruit, it finishes on a lingering earthy note. 468 cases produced.

Beringer's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Steinhauer Vineyard is bright, focused and very nicely articulated. It is also one of the very few Cabernets in this range that shows a more red fruit-leaning profile. Super-ripe red cherry, chalk, white pepper, mint and orange peel give the 2015 its signature brightness and aromatic lift. The 2015 is going to need at least a few years to unwind, but there is a lot there.
