Score 88/100 · Robert Parker, Dec 2016
The only somewhat disappointing of the single vineyard wines was the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Vogt Vineyard, which seemed somewhat monolithic and compact compared to its siblings. Certainly, there is good depth, fruit and structure, but it just didn’t sing.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Vogt Vineyard is an unusually supple, juicy wine for Howell Mountain. Dark stone fruit, mocha, espresso, licorice, dark spice and new oak all take shape in the glass. The Vogt tastes like it was picked a bit late, given the sweetness of the fruit and the wine's slight lack of energy relative to the other Cabernets in the range.
