Score 92/100 · Drink 2016-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2014

A darker and riper expression of the year emerges from Beringer's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon St. Helena Home Vineyard. Dark spice, mocha and leather notes meld together in a sumptuous, ripe Cabernet built on a real sense of opulence. The overt, flashy style seems best suited to near and medium-term drinking. This is the ripest of Beringer's single-vineyard Cabernets.

The fabulous, full-bodied 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Home Vineyard from St. Helena possesses great intensity, a blackcurrant fruit-bomb-like style, and wonderful opulence and richness. Drink now-2050+.
