Score 87/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013

Full red-ruby. Strawberry, currant and mocha on the nose. Supple and pliant but with a slight greenness to the flavors of redcurrant, tobacco, iron and herbs; a step up in ripeness and depth from the estate's 2009 merlot, showing nicely integrated acidity. The green element carries through to the finish, which features dusty but essentially supple tannins and decent length.
