Score 89+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013
Saturated red-ruby. Aromas of cassis, black raspberry, mocha, menthol and graphite, with a more refined oak component than the Estate Grown cabernet. Juicy, spicy and bright, with redcurrant fruit accented by leafy herbs and menthol. Nicely intense but with a slightly medicinal, even weedy, quality and a restrained sweetness. I wanted more give and flesh. Seems a bit stripped, like the other current red wine releases from Silverado, but I like its light touch.
