Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Oct 2025
Farella's top wine is the Alta—a blend of estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The 2015 Red Blend Alta is 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 4% Malbec. Complex notes of leather and roasted meat accent black cherries and blackberries in this full-bodied, supple effort. It's perhaps a bit more concentrated and complex than the estate's Cabernet Sauvignon but still approachable now, with a long, silky finish. These two 2015s have evolved beautifully.

Farella's 2015 Alta is a pleasant, mid-weight wine to drink now and over the next few years, while the bright red fruit and floral notes remain vibrant.
