Score 92/100 · Drink 2006-2021, Robert Parker, Dec 2006

This vineyard (on the hillsides near Blankiet) almost became a casualty of a major fire that broke out earlier this year. A blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petit Verdot, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Lone Canyon Vineyard is a dense, earthy effort displaying hints of scorched earth, camphor, black currants, cedar, and spice. Rich, full-bodied, intense, and powerful, this masculine-styled Cabernet should be consumed over the next 10-15 years. Tel. (707) 965-2445; Fax (707) 965-2446

Good full ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, bitter chocolate, licorice and spicy oak. Concentrated, densely packed and primary, with sweet berry flavor complicated by chocolate, mocha and baking spices. Finishes with substantial tongue-dusting tannins and lingering notes of coffee and mocha.
