Score 91/100 · Drink 2017-2024, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jul 2016
Hirsch's 2014 Pinot Noir The Bohan-Dillon is especially floral and savory in this vintage, which gives it a more laid-back personality than is often the case. Sweet rose petal, tobacco, mint, anise, cherry pit and red stone fruits grace the palate in a quintessentially mid-weight Pinot from the Hirsch family. It will be interesting to see if a little more fruit and overall sweetness emerges from the 2014 with bottle age. Today, it is somewhat linear and tense in style.
