Tasting notes
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet that is in a league of its own against four other wines from Caillerets. Life-affirming delineation and mineralité , palpable energy, real race and class. The palate has just a tiny reduction that imparts energy and tension. Linear at first, it goes on and on at the finish, delivering the sapidity to demand another sip a.s.a.p. This is sophisticated and enchanting. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Caillerets 1er Cru has a perfumed, mineral-driven nose that is one of the best amongst de Montille's whites: tensile and brimming with vivacity. The palate is taut and fresh on the entry, lime and grapefruit merging into slightly more tropical fruit towards the finish, but the tension is here throughout. This is a triumph given the season.
About the producer

Volnay’s Domaine de Montille is one of the most historic in the Côte d’Or. Founded in 1730, the property remains family-owned and run, with Etienne de Montille – the ninth generation – at the helm today.
