Score 93/100 · Drink 2023-2035, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Feb 2022

The mid-weight 2017 Brunello di Montalcino shows a smooth approach with cherry fruit and cassis. No part of this wine is overblown, and in fact, this Brunello maintains a silky personality overall. The alcohol is high at 15% in this hot vintage, although it feels relatively well tucked into the subtle fiber of this accessible Brunello. Production is 30,000 bottles.

Developing mid ruby. Balsamic ripe fruit on the nose. Concentrated sour cherry and grainy tannins building a unity. A tiny creamy note on the finish seems to indicate a bit of new oak. Completely ready now. (WS)
