Tasting notes
100% Chardonnay from 34-year-old and 54-year-old vines in Vertus. 0 g/l dosage. Very complete and satisfying. Nothing out of kilter. Just a great, dry but not painful mouthful of top-quality fruit. Already a delight. (JR)

Dried apple, marzipan, fairly light body and very tight on the finish. A bit too lean for my taste, though it has a very stylish feel about it. (RH)
White golden in color, the 2009 Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Brut Nature Terre de Vertus offers a very pure and delicate but also intense bouquet of stewed apples with lemon flavors, a touch of vanilla creme and a lovely iodine character as well. Filigreed, highly elegant and silky on the palate, this is a fruit intense but also a firmly structured and persistent vintage Champagne of great finesse. Lovely walnut and yeasty flavors in the aftertaste. Great harmony. Delicious.
Light, bright yellow. Offers an array of lively citrus and orchard fruit aromas and flavors, with chalky mineral and floral notes adding vivacity and lift. The palate boasts excellent clarity and depth, with exotic mace and green tea nuances coming up with aeration. Closes taut and spicy, with echoing floral character and excellent mineral-driven focus and length.
