The youngest wine in this range with a Marey-Monge label. Old tawny with a brownish tinge. Very old nose – not quite oxidised but on the brink. The nose can give some pleasure but this is too salty and dried out to give much pleasure on the palate. No fun at all, this bottle, although of course there are some very pleasurable 1972s. (JR)
