Tasting notes
The 2018 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard is a ripe, sexy 2018 that sports a dense purple color as well as lots of mulberry, cranberry, and red plum fruits along with flowery incense, pepper, and assorted spices. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully textured, it has the balance and structure to keep for at least 8-10 years.

The 2018 Zinfandel Bedrock Vineyard is potent, yet also very tight at this stage. Time in the glass brings out striking inner sweetness and perfume, but the 2018 remains quite reticent on the palate. Red berry fruit, blood orange and hints of spice linger. This is a distinctly mid-weight Zinfandel for Bedrock, which tends to produce richer, deeper wines. Mike Officer says the 2018 reminds him of some of the 2016 Barolos he has had of late. I suppose that's an apt comparison, but I would rather see more Bedrock signatures.
