Score 88/100 · Drink 1992-1999, Robert Parker, Aug 1992
If one is striving to make a Zinfandel for consuming in its first 6-7 years of life, yet yielding plenty of intensity and wonderful purity and fragrance, Quivira has the right formula. I have had all their Zinfandels since their debut release in the early eighties, and they have all offered vivid bouquets of penetrating raspberry fruit intermingled with scents of spicy new oak. These are Zinfandels that are both authoritatively flavored and elegant. What really turns me on about these wines is their wonderful balance, great ripeness, purity of fruit, and luscious, smooth finishes. The 1990 offering is as good as any of their previous vintages, all of which were successful. Tel. 707-431-8333.
