Score 89-92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous

Red-ruby. Aromas of currant, minerals, tobacco, earth and dark chocolate, along with mellow smoky oak. Sappy, penetrating red berry flavors of moderate ripeness. Less dense than the Reignots but intensely flavored and nicely concentrated. Sweetness is leavened by sound acidity. Finishes with firm tannins and good grip.
