Tasting notes
Brilliant ruby-red. Highly perfumed black raspberry and rose oil scents are complemented by hints of savory herbs, allspice and vanilla. Juicy and broad on the palate, offering appealingly sweet red and dark berry, cola and floral pastille flavors that become livelier as the wine opens up. Fine-grained tannins lend gentle grip to the impressively long finish, which shows strong floral- and spice-driven tenacity. 100% Pommard clone.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Block 23 is medium ruby-purple with aromas of black cherries and berries, blueberries, warm earth and underbrush with a touch of alcoholic heat on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, it offers ripe, spiced blue and black fruits in the mouth, grainy tannins and juicy acidity, finishing with the alcohol poking out a bit.
