Score 95/100 · Drink 2019-2029, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2019

Bright cherries, iris flowers, bay leaf, and some herbal/flower garden notes all emerge from the 2016 Pinot Noir Manchester Ridge Vineyard, which comes from a higher elevation site in Mendocino County. Possessing medium to full body, incredible purity, fine tannins, and again, this incredible floral quality, it’s an awesome Pinot Noir that will drink nicely for 6-7 years, if not longer. This cuvée comes from Dijon clones 115 and 777, was destemmed, and spent 15 months in 60% new barrels.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Manchester Ridge Vineyard is from a vineyard near the Pacific Ocean at 2,200 feet in elevation. It was aged for 15 months in 60% new French oak. Medium ruby-purple colored, it has a nose of redcurrants, Bing cherries, cranberries, red roses and fragrant earth with touches of tobacco and dusty earth. The medium-bodied palate is fine, refreshing and vivacious with soft tannins and a perfumed finish. 115 cases produced.
