Tasting notes
In the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Dragon Vineyard, massive, firm tannins come together with gravel, licorice, menthol, dried flower and lavender in a powerful, concentrated Cabernet that is very typical of Howell Mountain. I would not be at all surprised if the 2017 shows even better in another few years' time. This is an especially dark, brooding wine - then again, this is Howell Mountain.

Another rich wine, 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Dragon Vineyard is powerful, deep and unctuous, with a huge core of inky fruit and tremendous concentration. The 2017 is quite primary at this stage, with plenty of Howell Mountain structure underpinning the fruit, but less site specific character than is typically the case. It would be nice to see a little more delineation and aromatic presence. Hopefully that will come with time.
