Tasting notes
The 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is an elegant, medium-bodied example with more tannin than most regular bottlings (a characteristic of the vintage). This structured wine offers weedy black currant fruit, subtle oak, and a well-built, concentrated finish. About 8% Cabernet Franc was added to the blend. The 1996 is approachable, but it promises to be even better with several more years of bottle age, and will last 12-15+ years. Tel. (707) 259-9463 and (800) MONDAVI; Fax (707) 963-1007

Full red-ruby. Slightly roasted aromas of plum, cherry, cassis, leather, mocha and earth. Sweet, fat, full and generous in the mouth; this will offer satisfying early drinking. Finishes with dusty tannins and notes of redcurrant, smoke and leather.
