Blackberries, violets, cracked pepper, spring flowers, and olive tapenade all emerge from the 2019 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard, a Côte Rôtie look-alike that's medium-bodied and has supple, elegant tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It's another spectacular Syrah from this team. I surprisingly found a few of these latest Pinot Noirs from Foxen to be muddled and overtly earthy. Nevertheless, it’s big lineup of wines and there’s lot to like and choose from.

The 2019 Syrah Tinaquaic Vineyard is another fabulous edition of one of Santa Barbara's most compelling and distinctive wines. Inky, powerful and voluptuous to the core, the Tinaquaic Syrah possesses tremendous depth from start to finish. Copious blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and menthol build into the huge finish. This embryonic Syrah has a bright future.
