Tasting notes
The 2022 Pinot Noir Bressay Estate Vineyard comes from high-density, dry-farmed vines planted in 2005 in sandy soils. Grapes were harvested August 19 and 22, and the wine fermented with 40% whole clusters. It has compelling aromas that segue from generous raspberry, blackberry and blood orange to finely detailed notes of rose hip, conifer and botanicals. The medium-bodied palate offers generous, layered flavors and soaring floral perfume. It has a silky texture, mouthwatering acidity and a long, detailed finish. 500 cases were made.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Bressay Estate Vineyard saw 40% whole bunches in the fermentation and is a ripe ruby color, with notes of sweet raspberry coulis, candied roses, darker mineral undertones, and sweet spices. As it opens, it takes on a darker profile, with remarkable structure and balance on the palate, ripe tannins, and a long, long finish. Offering great tension and a balanced feel, it’s an exceptional wine from the vintage, It would do well to see a decant opening now.
