Tasting notes
Planted in 1902. Zinfandel, Trousseau, Petite Sirah and Carignan. Medium ruby. Cola, spice and red cherry up front. Fresh acidity and light grip. Lovely balance and floral freshness with that intense cola. Gorgeous! (SCJ)

The 2022 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard is the most nuanced, intricate and arguably timeless wine in the extensive Turley Zinfandel array. The nose straddles deep, powerful fruit aromas of apricot, dark berries, cranberry and pomegranate with rose petal-driven perfume. Scorched earth, tobacco leaves, licorice and forest-floor accents continuously supply ever-present complexity. The palate is lush and lacy with incredible precision and energy, fusing into an approachable, delicious fruit-driven core lined with fine, clay-textured tannins and vibrant, clarifying acidity. The finish has fantastic length and fidelity, with layers that grow ever more kaleidoscopic with time. This is a modern classic in the making and should evolve for at least two decades.
